Agate, of mottled darker and light areas, each shoulder carved with flattened panels, the body containing heavy brown inclusions, the main area is towards the neck and has been indented (presumably) to retain the depth of brown and would also provide an ideal are for the thumb to caress. The base is flat and the stopper is of coral and bronze. Chinese, 1780-1850.
